How big is a tile?

The map of the world is divided into 16,384 x 16,384 tiles. Because earth is actually round, the size of tiles varies around the globe.

At the equator the size of one tile is 2.45km x 2.45km.

Most of the tiles in the world are close to 1,6km x 1,6km
