Wandrio has been making great progress, and our team has continued to grow. Our lead architect, Antti, has been joined by one of Finland’s top trail runners, Eevi Bengs, whose contribution has significantly accelerated the pace of development. This month, UX designer and orienteering enthusiast Oiva Kumpulainen also joins the Wandrio team full-time. For our users, this means faster delivery of new features and a significant improvement in the reliability of the service.
A great example of this is our new Tile Ownership feature, released today. It is Wandrio’s first paid feature.
Buying a tile is simple: just tap the “Buy This Tile” button on any tile and complete the purchase through Google Play or the App Store. Once purchased, that tile is yours forever. You can rename it and leave a message for other users who visit it. In the future, owning tiles will also provide points and gameplay benefits.
Wandrio will never become a pay-to-win game. Instead, our goal is to build optional premium features that are genuinely useful, features people choose to pay for because they add value to the experience. Tile ownership is the first step toward that vision.
When you purchase a tile, you’re also directly supporting Wandrio’s continued development and helping us grow our team.
We’re not saying that the value of tiles will increase in the future like Bitcoin, but there is only a limited number of tiles in the world, and once you buy one, you own it forever…
Have you already activated the Seasons feature and added your fellow tile hunters as friends in Wandrio?
Looking ahead, our next major development focus is Teams. The goal is to make tile collecting rewarding over the long term, even for players who can’t ride 100 kilometers every day to compete for the top spots in the global seasonal rankings. We want Wandrio to be motivating and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of how much time they have to explore.
